Το Ίδρυμα “Μαρία Τσάκος-Διεθνές Κέντρο Ναυτικής Έρευνας και Παράδοσης” προκηρύσσει διαγωνισμό συγγραφής δοκιμίου με τίτλο “Φιλότιμο”.
Το δοκίμιο πρέπει να είναι μέχρι 500 λέξεις και κυρίως να απαντά στις ερωτήσεις:
- Τι σημαίνει φιλότιμο για σένα;
- Ποια είναι τα άξια θαυμασμού παραδείγματα φιλότιμου που γνώρισες;
- Ποιες είναι οι πράξεις της καθημερινής σου ζωής που εκφράζουν την ουσία του φιλότιμου;
- Πως μπορεί το φιλότιμο να βελτιώσει την καθημερινή μας ζωή;
Για την αποστολή της εργασίας, το κείμενο πρέπει να μπει σε έναν φάκελο χωρίς στοιχεία. Αυτός ο φάκελος θα μπει σε έναν άλλον φάκελο ο οποίος θα έχει τα στοιχεία αποστολέα και παραλήπτη προκειμένου να ταχυδρομηθεί. Μπορούν να κατατεθούν οι εργασίες και αυτοπροσώπως με τον ίδιο τρόπο στην ταχυδρομική διεύθυνση του Ιδρύματος, Μ. Λιβανού 51, 82100 Χίος.
Προθεσμία κατάθεσης ή αποστολής η 30η Νοεμβρίου 2015.
Η εξέταση των δοκιμίων θα γίνει από ειδική επιτροπή.
Η καλύτερη συγγραφή δοκιμίου θα βραβευθεί με 500 ευρώ στη διάρκεια ειδικής εκδήλωσης.

The “Maria Tsakos Foundation-International Center of Maritime Research & Tradition” announces an Essay Writing Contest entitled “Filotimo” (Sense of Honour).
Philotimo is considered to be the highest of all Greek virtues which determines and regulates how someone should behave in their family and social groups. It is mostly about respect and doing the right thing. In its simplest form it means “doing good”, and it ensures your behavior will make you stand out from others. It will demonstrate what kind of a person you are and the manner in which you were brought up. Philotimo to a Greek is essentially a way of life.
The essay must be up to 500 words presenting mostly answers to questions, such as:
- What does “Filotimo” mean to you?
- Can you name some unique examples of “Filotimo” that have occured in your life?
- You may name some daily actions expressing the deeper meaning of “Filotimo”.
- How can it improve our life?
Before sending the essay, this must be put in an envelope writing no names or contact details. This envelope must, afterwards, be put in another envelope with the contact details of the sender and the addressee. The essay may also be handed over to the Foundation offices in Chios (51, M. Livanou Str.)
All papers must be sent no later than the 30th November 2015.
The examination process will be done by a Committee.
The best essay will be awarded with a prize of 500 euros during a special ceremony that will later take place.
