ΔΕΛΤΙΟ ΤΥΠΟΥ

Υπογραφή Μνημονίου Συνεργασίας μεταξύ του Ιδρύματος «Μαρία Τσάκος» και του Κορεατικού Νηογνώμονα

Την Τρίτη, 7 Ιουνίου 2016 υπεγράφη Μνημόνιο Συνεργασίας μεταξύ του Κοινωφελούς Ιδρύματος «Μαρία Τσάκος» – Κέντρο Ναυτικής Έρευνας και Παράδοσης και του Korean Register of Shipping, επισφραγίζοντας έτσι τους ισχυρούς και μακροχρόνιους δεσμούς μεταξύ του Ομίλου Τσάκου και του Κορεατικού Νηογνώμονα. Η τελετή υπογραφής πραγματοποιήθηκε στο κτήριο του Ιδρύματος στην Αθήνα.

Για την υπογραφή του Πρωτοκόλλου προσήλθε ο Πρόεδρος του KR κ. Park Bum-shik συνοδευόμενος από τον Αντιπρόεδρο Ευρωπαϊκών Υποθέσεων κ. Shin Jeong-do, τον Εκτελεστικό Αντιπρόεδρο κ. Lee Hyung-chul, τον Γ. Διευθυντή κ. Charles Choi και τον Γ. Διευθυντή των Γραφείων της Αθήνας κ. Δημήτριο Τάσιο.

Από πλευράς Ιδρύματος παρόντες ήσαν ο ιδρυτής Καπετάν Παναγιώτης Ν. Τσάκος, ο Πρόεδρος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου κ. Ευθύμιος Η. Μητρόπουλος, τα μέλη του Δ.Σ. κ.κ. Ιωάννης Χατζής, Γεώργιος Ανωμερίτης, Γεώργιος Ζαμπέλας, Στράτος Παπαδημητρίου και η κυρία Κατερίνα Τσαρτακλέα καθώς και ο Διευθυντής του Ιδρύματος κ. Παύλος Καλογεράκης. Παρήσαν επίσης ο κ. Έρικ Μοντάνιος μετά της κ. Ελβίνας Μοντάνιου καθώς και στελέχη του Ομίλου Τσάκου.

Την Τελετή άνοιξε με χαιρετισμό ο Πρόεδρος κ. Ε.Η. Μητρόπουλος ο οποίος αφού αναφέρθηκε στο πολύπλευρο έργο του Ιδρύματος και κυρίως στους τομείς της φιλανθρωπίας, του πολιτισμού, της προστασίας του θαλάσσιου περιβάλλοντος, της εκπαίδευσης και των ερευνητικών προγραμμάτων, εστίασε τον χαιρετισμό του στο επιτελούμενο έργο στο «Σπίτι της Μαρίας», όπου φιλοξενούνται και πολύτροπα υποστηρίζονται πολλά υποσχόμενοι μαθητές στον εκπαιδευτικό και επαγγελματικό στίβο. Εξέφρασε τη βεβαιότητα ότι,  με βάση ότι πυρήνας των δράσεων του Ιδρύματος στον εκπαιδευτικό τομέα είναι η πολύπλευρη οικονομική στήριξη μαθητών, σπουδαστών και επιστημόνων σε σπουδές ναυτικού ή ναυτιλιακού χαρακτήρα, η συνεργασία με τον Κορεατικό Νηογνώμονα θα είναι χρήσιμη, παραγωγική και αμοιβαία επωφελής.

Ο κ. Park χαιρέτισε με θέρμη την έναρξη συνεργασίας του Νηογνώμονα με το Ίδρυμα και σημείωσε τον θαυμασμό του για το επιτελούμενο από το Ίδρυμα έργο, προς το οποίο ο KR έρχεται αρωγός. Ευχήθηκε επιτυχίες αφενός μεν στο έργο του Ομίλου για το καλό της ναυτιλίας και αφετέρου στο Ίδρυμα για την νεολαία και την κοινωνία.

Η τελετή έληξε με αναμνηστικές φωτογραφίες και την ανταλλαγή δώρων.

Signing of Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the “Maria Tsakos” Public Benefit Foundation and the Korean Register

A signing ceremony to commemorate the agreement between the “Maria Tsakos” Public Benefit Foundation – Centre for Maritime Research and Tradition and the Korean Register of Shipping was held at the Foundation’s headquarters in Athens, on 7 June 2016, thereby sealing the strong and long term bonds between the Tsakos Group and the Korean Register of Shipping.

The Chairman of KR, Mr. Park Bum-Shik, accompanied by the Vice-Chairman of European Affairs, Mr. Shin Jeong-do, the Executive Vice Chairman, Mr. Lee Hyung-chul, the General Manager, Mr. Charles Choi and the Director of the KR’s headquarters in Athens, Mr. Dimitrios Tassios attended the ceremony.

The Foundation was represented by its Founder, Captain Panagiotis N. Tsakos, the Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, Mr. Efthimios E. Mitropoulos, the Members of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, Mr. Ioannis Chatzis, Mr. Georgios Anomeritis, Mr. Georgios Zambelas, Mr. Stratos Papadimitriou and Mrs. Katerina Tsartakleas as well as the Director of the Foundation, Mr. Pavlos Kalogerakis. Mr. Eric Montanios accompanied by Mrs. Evelina Montanios as well as several executives of Tsakos Group, also attended the ceremony.

During his welcome speech, the Chairman of the Foundation, Mr. E. E. Mitropoulos, after mentioning the multifaceted mission of the Foundation and focusing on its philanthropic and cultural work and on its aim to promote the protection of the marine environment, the education and the research projects, appraised the work of the “Maria’s Home”, where promising young students are hosted and supported in multiple ways. Based on the fact that, the core of the Foundation’s actions, concerning the educational field, is the economic support of pupils, students and scientists on marine or maritime studies, he reassured that the Foundation’s co-operation with the Korean Register of Shipping will be useful, productive and fruitful.

Taking the stand, Mr. Park welcomed the beginning of the co-operation between the Korean Register of Shipping and the “Maria Tsakos” Foundation and noted his admiration for the ongoing work of the Foundation, to which the Korean Register was called to support. Finally, he wished every success to both Tsakos Group and the “Maria Tsakos” Foundation on their maritime vision.

At the end of the ceremony, both parts exchanged symbolic gifts.
